Visual Information Processing Group is one of the 4 research
groups in the National Laboratory of Pattern Recognition,
Chinese Academy of Sciences. The group now has 13 faculty
members, including 6 professors, 3 associate professors and 4
assistant professors, and about 50 Ph.D or MS students. The
group's major research activities are concentrated on the
following directions: (1) New computational theories and methods
based on human perception and cognition; (2) Fast and robust
algorithms, in particular, those for motion detection and 3D
reconstruction; (3) Vision-based prototype system development.
The group is funded largely from various major national research
and development programs, including The National Key Basic
Research and Development Program, The National High Technology
R-D Program, and National Natural Science Foundation of China.
